Laura Hurwitz

This week on the Easy Chair: “Killer,” an original short fiction piece written by your truly about a volunteer, a refugee, a bodega, and a pit bull. There are serial small encounters for volunteer Stella and five year-old Amina, a refugee from Somalia. One neighborhood, one afternoon, one country, but Stella and Amina experience the full range of America. Turns out Stella and Killer the pit bull have something in common. This story spoke to me as I wrote it, and I hope it speaks to you. Tune in!
