Corked
Miles heads to a gaudy McMansion in Sonoma County to interview Raymond “Cork” Scalzo (Dan Klein), a notable pornographer, entrepreneur, and Lyle’s business partner in Le Monde Vineyards. Raymond sheds new light on Frances Meyer’s disappearance, and drops a bombshell about the night she went missing. As credible, violent threats start mounting against Lyle, Miles turns to Officer Cortado Crumb (Lou Wilson) of the Napa PD—with mixed results. Public Radio America host Miles Fletcher (Anthony Gioe) sets off to Dumb, Louisiana to meet a troubled man named Jeffers Tatum Trench (Whitmer Thomas) who claims that Lyle Le Monde (Jon Gabrus), a famous winemaker in Napa Valley is a fraud, conman, and potentially, a murderer. While many of Jeffers’ claims about Lyle check out, his friends and local tattoo artists, Coover “Booger” Daniels (Josh Ruben) and Kimber Gunt (Ally Beardsley), reveal to Miles that Jeffers has a personal vendetta against Lyle, possibly making him an unreliable narrator. Corked is written and directed by Giancarlo Fiorentini and Jonathan Grimm. Tune in for new episodes every Tuesday from August 16th to September 6th. Miles Fletcher continues his investigation of Frances Meyer’s disappearance in Napa Valley, where he’s granted face time with Lyle Le Monde (Jon Gabrus), a gregarious and flashy winemaker who’s found himself in the unenviable position as the number one suspect in the case—at least in the court of public opinion. Miles also speaks with Marcy Davenport (Mary Holland), an old money, traditionalist winemaker with an ax to grind against Lyle, and Harley Jackson (Betsy Sodaro), Lyle’s right-hand woman who may very well be loyal to him to a fault. Corked is written and directed by Giancarlo Fiorentini and Jonathan Grimm. Tune in for new episodes every Tuesday from August 16th to September 6th. Punch Up The Jam
Grudgingly yet proudly acknowledging their middle-aged-ness, Evan and Andrew call in a ringer to shed some light on what the hell David Bowie is imagining when he thinks of Young Americans. Pimps? Hustlers? Richard Nixon?!? Had this guy even BEEN to America?!? Along the way, our hosts reminisce about their viral collaboration “It’s Corn,” Bruce Springsteen plagiarism, whether cocaine can make you a fascist*, and, for no discernible reason, revisit Andrew’s worst opinion. *yes. Guest: Julian Shapiro-Barnum of Recess Therapy. Starting TODAY you can tune into video versions of Punch Up The Jam episodes! You can watch the video version of this episode HERE! Too Scary; Didn't Watch
Skin suits, an FBI agent/feminist icon in training, and one surprisingly helpful cannibal - we're talking Jonathan Demme's The Silence of the Lambs! Marcy Jarreau (Brooklyn Nine-Nine, A Funny Feeling, Kardishin' It, 90 Day Bae) joins us to talk all things Hannibal Lecter and Clarice Starling. This movie won FIVE OSCARS because it's that damn good. It's got a lot of great lessons; mainly - don't trust any men ever? Or at the very least ones with casts on their arms asking you to help them move furniture. Just run. Follow the show: @TSDWpodcast on Twitter, TikTok, and Instagram. Rude Tales of Magic
Now, Piss Harbor isn't known as an especially lawful town. No sir. But that's even moreso the case on Binge Night—the one night of the year when all Laws in Piss Harbor take the night off and let their respectful rival Crimes pick up a shift. Whatever will Moose (Joe Lepore), Neil (Ali Fisher), and Jonathan Large (Christopher Hastings) do on this night of wanton criminality? Well, I suppose crimes seem likely, but then again I am *the episode description writer who is also A CRIMINAL*! So I may be a bit biased. In the final episode of “Al Capone: All-American,” Al Capone, at the height of his powers, finds himself trapped in a gilded cage — hunted by gangland enemies, the IRS, the President, and a little-known fed named Eliot Ness. And just as we can learn from history on how to launch a podcast on Patreon, Capone's successors learned how best to hang on to the power he lost—a dark lesson still adhered to by the gangsters in power today. To keep up with Alana, follow her on Instagram: @alanalevinsonSourcesHistorian Mario Gomes's excellent website, My Al Capone Museum (https://www.myalcaponemuseum.com/)Milwaukee PBS Presents "Al Capone: Prohibition and Wisconsin""The O’Hares: A Story Of Redemption Between Father And Son Easy Eddie And Butch O’Hare," Aimee Lamoureux, All That's InterestingGet Capone: The Secret Plot That Captured America's Most Wanted Gangster by Jonathan EigEliot Ness: The Rise and Fall of an American Hero by Douglas PerryScarface and the Untouchable: Al Capone, Eliot Ness and the Battle for Chicago by Max Allan Collins & A.
